About the show
Returning to TV2 is the explosive second (and last ever) series of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, continuing the saga of what happens when Sarah Connor (Lena Headey) stops running and goes on the offensive against an ever-evolving technological enemy.
Still fugitives from the law, Sarah and her son John (Thomas Dekker) are confronted with the reality that more enemies from the future and the present could attack at any moment. Sarah hopes to stop the impending apocalypse and change John's fate.
Reprising her role as Sarah Connor, Lena Headey appreciates the way Sarah's story has transitioned from film to TV. "Obviously I'd seen Terminator and it still sticks with me as one of the most terrifying ideas that you could be hunted 24 hours a day by an indestructible force.
"I love how that feeling has carried on into the TV show. It has that similarity with the film at the beginning and it pushes on through the whole series."
Headey also appreciates the added bonus of having a whole series to tell a story. "Making a TV show which is an hour each week is very different to making a movie because you have more time to move slowly and you can explore more than you ever could in one film."
Not traditionally a sci-fi head herself, Headey's younger co-stars Thomas Dekker who plays her son John, and Summer Glau who stars as the dangerous cyborg Cameron, help get her up to speed with the complexities of the story. "John has box sets of the films, and Summer is sort of a sci-fi goddess, she just loves all of that stuff, so they kind of educate me. We may have already filmed something, but they help me actually get it."
