Former world tennis number one Justine Henin is considering an offer to play in Auckland's ASB Classic in January

Henin is understood to be tossing up whether to start her WTA Tour comeback next year at Auckland's ASB Classic or the following week in Sydney.

Belgian television journalist and friend of Henin's, Inge van Meensel, says she will not start her comeback at Auckland's rival tournament Brisbane, because Kim Clijsters is playing there.

She says Clijsters and Henin are completely different personalities but respect each other and would probably not start the year at the same event.

Van Meensel says her gut feeling is Henin would probably prefer to start in Sydney where she has played before and there are a lot of top players participating, but if Henin decides to play the first week of the year, Auckland is the obvious choice.

Henin will make a decision on where she will play in the next couple of weeks.
