New Zealand tennis number one Marina Erakovic will make a decision in the next 24 hours whether she plays Wimbledon next week.

Erakovic has been off the WTA Tour since March with a stress reaction in her hip.

She's only just started practicing again and will meet with her medical experts on Tuesday before making a decision.

Erakovic's ranking has slipped outside the top 100 to 116 in the world and she will have to be off the Tour for six months to be able to use a protected ranking to play up to eight WTA Tour level events.

If she elects to play Wimbledon the 21-year-old will have to start playing lower level events again.
