A controversial end to women's semi finals day at Wimbledon with the Williams' sisters forced to defend their professionalism.

Elena Dementieva claimed the final would be rigged by the Williams family after she lost 6-1, 7-6 to defending champion Venus on Friday morning.

She made an off the cuff remark that it will be a family decision "for sure" as to who wins.

Venus was outraged at the suggestion and said any mention of that is extremely disrespectful for who she is and what she stands for.

Venus said she found the comments highly offensive and was disappointed that the possibility has even been raised.

She said she is always professional in everything she does off the court.

Sister Serena is also through to the final after a 6-2, 7-6 win over China's Zheng Zie.

Serena confirmed she is looking forward to playing her sibling who is always her toughest opponent.

The Williams sisters insist the outcome of the final will be decided on the court.
