Young Kiwi gets shot at Heineken Open

Wairarapa 20-year-old Marcus Daniell has been awarded a wildcard, if he requires it into the qualifying of the 2010 Heineken Open.

Daniell, who has a current ATP ranking of 770 had his best year of his short professional career in 2009. He reached his first Futures final at an event in Israel - winning the doubles at the same tournament and also made a semi and a quarterfinal in other singles draws at Futures throughout the year.

Locally Daniell has been a consistent player winning the recent Fuji Xerox Auckland Championships and is also in this evenings final of the Pascoes the Jewellers Residentials Champs against Austen Childs.
