Another year, another Heineken Open, another slew of fit, young men descend on Auckland to ply their trade on the courts.

And this year a pocket rocket Frenchman has caught our eye. Oo la la, indeed.

Arnaud Clement was a bit of a late addition to this year's Heineken Open. So the story goes, he and his friend Sebastien Grosjean were having dinner in Sydney when the call came through asking him if he could play in the Auckland tournament. He said he could if they found a spot in the draw for his friend, Grosjean. Voila! Two more cute Frenchmen were winging their way to New Zealand.

Nice work, tournament director Richard Palmer!

Some say that at the age of 32, Arnaud is past his best. But we beg to differ.

Sure, he's made just the one Grand Slam final (back in 2001 at the Australian Open) but every tournament needs a bit of eye candy, and Arnaud has that in spades.

We're not big fans of the sunglasses he is prone to wearing on the tennis court (although Wikipedia tells us he has a medical reason to use them), but we're big fans of what's hiding behind the sunglasses.

Oh, and he's awfully lovely to listen to while he's being interviewed. Although with that accent, he could read out a shopping list and we would still swoon.

But anyway.

Enjoy this short video of Arnaud training. It may only be about 30 seconds long, but there's a bit of French shouting and he's shirtless. 'Nuff said.
