Pictures have leaked online of what it is claimed to be the new BlackBerry mobile phone, prompting reports that it looks very similar to the shape and design of the Apple iPhone.
Vietnamese website Tinhte.vn has posted 18 images of a touchscreen device purporting to be the new phone design by BlackBerry maker Research in Motion.
The images were uploaded by an anonymous source who claims they show the BlackBerry 10 L-series, which is due out in late January.
However, the pictured device lacks BlackBerry's signature shape and keypad, instead featuring a longer shape and touchscreen similar to those of an iPhone 5.
Images of the device show it has no home button, indicating the phone's software may offer a significantly different operating system to the Apple system.
Pictures of the side of the phone show a micro-USB connector and a micro-HDMI cable port, which could allow it to connect to high-res external displays.
The BlackBerry 10 L-Series is make-or-break for Research In Motion, which has gone from being the executive smartphone of choice to becoming an also-ran in the mobile phone market.
