An Iraq War veteran blinded in a grenade attack has been given the gift of sight by a special pair of glasses, which allow him to 'see' using his tongue.
The glasses, developed by a firm in the US, turn pictures into electrical impulses that are felt on the tongue, using a lolly-shaped device that is placed in the mouth.
Lance Corporal Craig Lundberg from the UK was selected by the UK Ministry of Defence to take part in the trials.
Lundberg says the different sensations he feels on his tongue, which he says felt like popping candy, help him distinguish between light and dark.
