The under fire financial advisor for Radio Ngāti Porou has resigned. Arnold Reedy has been facing vicious public criticism over his management role at the station.
Iwi radio funder Te Māngai Pāho has had an auditor in Ruatoria for the last couple of days sifting through the books. The investigation was kicked off by former employee, George Kaiwai, who has made a number of allegations. The radio station’s board has labelled much of Mr Kaiwai’s allegations as defamatory on Facebook and for legal reasons we can’t repeat them.
Mr Reedy is the husband of Erana Keelan-Reedy the station’s manager.
Te Māngai Pāho chief executive John Bishara says the resignation took effect from today. He wouldn’t go into specific details about what the initial audit results revealed except to say “It’s very, very messy.”
Mrs Keelan-Reedy says neither she nor her husband could comment.
The station has received $1.2 million TMP funding over the last three years and was awarded the Iwi Radio Station of the Year in April.
