Maori trusts rejects deal with Shanghai Pengxin
Negotiations between Shanghai Pengxin and interested Maori
trusts regarding purchase of three farms have fallen through.
Tiroa E and Te Hape B Trusts, as well as Tauhara Farm were looking
at purchasing back three of the 16 Crafar Farms, but are now
rejecting the deal due to the 'ridiculous price' offered.

has a $3 billion investment ahead of them.
Iwi and army farewell 'John the Major'
The last of the 28th Maori Battalion senior leaders has
died. Hone Hikitia Te Rangi Waititi was mourned at his marae in
Whangaparaoa today. There was a strong army contingency that joined
Te Whanau-a-Apanui and Ngati Porou in mourning the loss of this
leader.
Over 90 scholars to present at research symposium
The Maori research branch of the Auckland University is
currently running the fifth Indigenous Research Symposium where
over 90 scholars will be presenting, one of whom is the head of Nga
Pae o Te Maramatanga, Te Ahukaramu Charles Royal.
