Police have arrested a 25-year-old Mt Albert man charged with the murder of Nathan Pukeroa a week ago.
The man has also been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm against Mr Pukeroa’s 22-year-old friend.
The accused is expected in the Auckland District Court this afternoon.
Detective Inspector Chris Cahill is pleased with the outcome of the investigation.
“Today’s development is a very welcome one but there’s still a lot of investigative and background work to do.
“We are, as usual, very appreciative of the assistance and support from the Mt Albert community over the past week and are relieved to be able to announce today’s arrest.”
