Get to know Simon Morton
Simon Morton is best known for his TV ONE's 'Why We Buy', as
well as his eclectic and informative series on Radio New
Zealand National 'This Way Up'.
A self confessed information junkie, before 'This Way Up' he
developed and produced the weekly technology radio series 'Digital
Life'.
Before he moved into broadcasting in 2001, Simon had collected a
diverse set of jobs, both in New Zealand and overseas.
His first proper job was a three-year stint for Bungy pioneer AJ
Hackett, based in Queenstown for a year before heading to France to
help set up their European operations. In Spain and Greece he sold
time share apartments, worked as a recruitment consultant in
London, repaired skis in France, cleared tables at a Palm Beach
country club and was MC of a weekly talent night in Majorca.
Simon also worked at the BBC World Service in London producing the
weekly technology series, 'Digital Planet' and produced work for
National Public Radio in the US, and the Australian Broadcasting
Corporation.
He's usually seen around Wellington on his bike, and is dead keen
on a game of soccer.
