Sandra has worked in mainstream and Pacific Radio and television for over 22 years. She started with Radio New Zealand in Tokoroa and Hamilton before moving to Auckland to help set up Radio 531 PI. The leap into television began with Tagata Pasifika and after 11 years she made the transition into mainstream television with one of New Zealands longest running programmes, Fair Go. After two years, Sandra left the show to work as a Producer/Presenter for TVNZ 7.
She added author to her list of achievements when she published her first book, Pasifika Women: Our Stories in New Zealand, with Reed Publishing in 2007. A year later, Sandra produced and staged her debut play On a Different Shelf at the Herald Theatre in Auckland. She is passionate about Pacific issues and in 2001 helped form the Pacific Islands Media Association (PIMA). Sandra is an active member of PACIFICA and is currently a board member of the National Pacific Radio Trust and proud mother to Kingston
