Malu Measina 2015 Auditions

Malu Measina Samoan Dance is seeking dancers. Auditions will be held in West and South Auckland.

Founded in June 2014, Malu Measina was formed for Samoan women to embrace & celebrate their

‘Malu' (traditional Samoan tattoo for women) or ‘Measina’ (treasure). Wearing a 'Malu' is mandatory

for all dancers.

“We welcome new dancers to join our movement. This group is for anyone who is passionate about

their culture and identity as a Tama’ita’i Samoa (Samoan woman). This year we aim to produce

performances of excellence in the hope to inspire audiences both domestically and internationally.

School of Music and Samoa Village for the annual Pasifika Festival at Western Springs.

Ho'omau - Free Hawaiian Hula Youth Programme

Over the course of 4 weeks, Pasifika Sway Trust will be running a free 2-day per week programme every Friday and Saturday teaching young people between the ages of 13 – 17 years the art of Hawaiian hula.


Pasifika Sway Trust based in Avondale runs a Hawaiian hula school named Halau Ka Waikahe Lani Malie, Peaceful Heavenly Flowing Waters School (aka The Hula Journey) and delivers programmes promoting health and wellbeing.  The kumu hula (hula teacher) of the hula school and the Director of Pasifika Sway Trust, Aruna Po-Ching will be teaching the programme with her assistant teacher, Dejealous Palota-Kopa (Te Atatu) at Corban Estate Arts Centre located in Henderson, Auckland. 


The participants of the youth programme will also have the opportunity to learn from award-winning international guest artist Blaine Kamalani Kia from Oahu, Hawaii who has appeared on TV1’s programme Radar Across The Pacific.  Blaine will be performing alongside the hula school at their annual showcase on 31 Oct and 1 November at TAPAC Theatre thanks to the support of Creative Communities Scheme and Hawaiian Airlines.

Morrinsville A&P Show

The Morrinsville A&P Show will be celebrating its 98th birthday in 2015 and we'd like to invite everyone to come and enjoy the build up to our upcoming 100 year milestone.

Our show will be jam packed full of excitement... everything from a gourmet food court, Good George beer garden, quality entertainment for the whole family, cooking demonstrations by NZ's first Masterchef, Brett McGregor, fashion tips and show by local designer, Annah Stretton, petting zoo to a thrill seeker's dream in the Mahon's fairground.
