Dog bite
Joanne Grammer was savaged by a pit bull this week. It threw her to
the ground and "ate" her she says, thrived off her fear. It was
only the brave actions of her friend which saved her life. Joanne
is the latest statistic in a summer of dog attacks. Throughout
January, 40 people a day were bitten by dogs. Yet some politicians
are proposing to loosen the leash on dog control laws. SUNDAY talks
to Joanne and a young victim whose life was dramatically changed by
a dog attack. We also meet the surgeon who stitched her together
again.
