Back to the future - When Kiwi entrepreneur Glenn Martin publicly launched his jetpack at a prestigious US air show, it was a bit of a fizzer. It only flew a metre off the deck and was tethered by two helpers. Then there were doubters, would the Martin jetpack ever really take off? Today, a year after that inglorious debut, we have our answer.

Acid attack - The weapon of choice for revenge attacks in Bangladesh is acid - sulphuric or nitric - thrown into the face of the victim leaving hideous lifelong scarring. Almost invariably the victims are women and children, even babies. What's behind this cruelty?
