Locked and loaded
Australian cops think Kiwi cops are crazy. They can't believe our
police officers go on the beat without a gun. Sixteen thousand New
South Wales police are holstered up. It's just part of their
uniform, while we like to believe New Zealand is so safe we don't
need an armed police force. If that's the case, Australian police
ask why two Kiwi policemen have been shot dead in the past two
years. They say a gun on a policeman's belt is a deterrent.
So should our police be armed?

Death on the Mediterranean
What really happened on the Marvi Marmara, the Gaza-bound peace
ship seized by Israeli commandoes in the Mediterranean? Panorama
has exclusive new video and interviews offering a fresh
perspective. Two months ago we brought you the first-hand account
of Nicola Enchmarch, the New Zealander aboard the aid ship. In that
version of events it was clearly the Israelis who were the
aggressors.
But were they? Could the Israelis have been provoked?
