Ladies and Gentlemen - John Rowles
He came out of a state house in Kawerau and within months was earning $175,000 US a week. He was mates with Elvis Presley and Tom Jones. He's the first NZ'er to headline in Las Vegas , the first NZ'er to have a top 10 hit in the UK and also the first Kiwi to make it to the Billboard Top 40 in the US.
Now after 45 years of riding the highs and lows of the global music market John Rowles, the man with the big voice and the big hair, has had enough. He's touring for the very last time.
