At the pinnacle of TVNZ 7's Spotlight On The Economy is the Beyond
The Recession Summit, where Corin Dann will explore what we need to
do to ensure a prosperous New Zealand exits the current
recession.
A dozen business leaders, analysts and commentators will share
their views in this summit on the repercussions of this challenging
economic period, and the impact it will have on society both
economically and culturally.
Dann hopes this summit will assess what the most pressing concerns
are and see if there is any consensus forming for change.
"This provides a great opportunity to take stock of where New Zealand is at one year on from the height of the global financial crisis - Can we afford to have another housing bubble? How do we improve and get greater confidence in our capital markets? What happened to the so-called export led recovery? And can we or should we do anything about the high Kiwi dollar?" says Dann.
Producer, Darryl Walker, expresses there is a shift in voice with this special, compared to National's First Year at the beginning of November.
"We heard from the political leaders at the front end, and now business leaders and owners here. The focus is on those that will lead us out - those with the ideas, expertise and leadership," says Walker.
