Vinnie Kruse
Vinnie left in 2006 to set up home in London with his pregnant girlfriend, Jemima. Vinnie and Jemima never got round to getting married, but their baby boy Michael took Vinnie's surname, Kruse.
Vinnie tried to be a good family man at the same time he held down a full-time nursing job, but giving up the party-boy lifestyle didn't come easily to him. As his popularity at work increased, his relationship with Jemima became more and more strained.
Because Vinnie was such a great father to Michael, Jemima put up with his partying and unreliability for as long as she could, but after five years she reached breaking point. The last straw was when Vinnie missed Jeminma's father's sixtieth birthday after he got caught up at work. Vinnie tried to apologise and explain, but Jemima refused to speak to him. Frustrated, Vinnie went out partying and when he finally returned, he found the house empty. Jemima had left him and taken their son with her.
Vinnie tried to move on but he held on to hope that he would be reunited with his family. When Jemima rang to break the news that their relationship was over, Vinnie was devastated.
He quit his job after an out of character tirade at
his boss then caused an angry scene going to see Jemima
at her parents' place, which only made the situation
worse.
He tried to numb his pain by partying hard for a few days.
When he finally settled down, he regretted his resignation, but it
was too late. His job was gone. He was given a good
reference, but now he had nowhere to live and little money - and
Jemima wasn't letting him near Michael. Feeling stupid and
furious that he'd brought this on himself, he caught a plane back
home.
Now back in Ferndale, Vinnie is trying to work his way back up
to the level four status he held back in London and remain the
happy go lucky party boy. But deep down, he is still troubled by
the breakup of his family.
He's took a liking to ice queen Brooke Freeman and the two
hooked up. But their flirtation was short lived.
Burned by Brooke's calulcating ways, Vinnie started seeing her
sister Bree.
