Ula Levi
Ula is Maxwell's sixteen year old estranged daughter.
Maxwell raised her from birth to ten, but during a messy divorce with his then wife Vasa, he learnt that Ula was not his daughter.
However, Ula was unaware that she was not his biological child, from and for a long time she thought that Maxwell abandoned her, something that her mother Vasa had been quick to encourage. She had been unaware that Maxwell had tried to re-connect with her.
Ula lived in Wellington with her mother and step father, Travis
and her much younger step sister and brother. Ula felt that
Travis didn't love her and that she had to play second fiddle to
her step siblings.
Vasa, a busy nurse, also had little time for Ula, leaving her
feeling neglected and unloved. This manifested itself in both
attention seeking behaviour and risk taking, which eventually saw
her run away and turn up in Ferndale, much to the surprise of her
father, Maxwell.
Ula has embraced teenage-hood with a vengeance. She is moody, easily swinging from a perfect angel to a complete cow in the bat of an eye, depending on who she is with.
Since her mother returned to Ferndale, Ula has settled down a great deal, pleased to see her parents finally getting on. Although she briefly harboured the hope that they might get back together, Ula has accepted the fact that Maxwell and Vasa are not meant to be and gets on well with Maxwell's new girlfriend, Nicole.
Ula hangs out with Jasmine, Phoenix and Evan, and although she was briefly interested in Phoenix, she had been casting her eye around school for other options of the boy variety.
She feel head over heels for the new boy at school Tom but when
she got pregnant to him, Tom fled leaving Ula on her own.
A frightened Ula kept her pregnancy a secret for the first couple
of months. When the pregnancy finally came out, Ula's friend Evan
admitted to being the father of her baby so that he could support
her.
