Tagata Pasifkia celebrates 20 years of Shorty
Over the years, Shortland Street has featured many of the Pacific Island community's top acting talent and last week, TV ONE's Tagata Pasifika took a look back over twenty years of Pacific Island cast, characters and storylines on the show.
The Tagata Pasifika team caught up with actors Robbie and
Pua Magasiva and Teuila Blakely at Shortland Street's 20th birthday
party back in May.
Shorty's resident Pacific Island family talked about Shorty's
significance for the Polynesian community.
They also caught up with Shortland Street's first Pacific Island actor Rene Naufahu who played ambulance driver Sam Aleni.
He shares some of the acting challenges and cross-cultural learning curves in the early days of the show.
