We talked to Head Costume designer Nicola Newman on how we create Zlata's look.
Can you tell us a little bit about Zlata's
look?
Zlata is very much based on a Gothic look but with more glam appeal. She wears alot of black with a hint of colour coming through with her accessories and shoes.
What are a couple of classic Zlata garments?
Hooded cape coat from Kourbela Ioanna, Lycra and lace black dress by Kookai and a killer pair of burgundy red suede knee high boots from Wild Pair.

Rebecca Elliot.
What do you do to create Zlata's make up look?
Zlata is Eastern European and has a very strong and
direct personality. She loves wearing makeup and isn't afraid to
wear it bold!
The key to Zlata's look is dark, smoky panda eyes, luscious dark
lips with a face framed with jet black hair.
Her overall look is dark, edgy and slightly gothic so we stick to a
cool toned pallet of plums, midnight blues, steel greys and smoky
blacks.
What is the secret to Zlata's eyes?
Zlata's dark eyes are a key part of her look. We use
Smashbox 'dark grey' and 'blackout' with loads of smudged black
eyeliner.
To bring out Kate Elliot's green eyes we add a touch of green to
her inner eyelid and then apply layers of black mascara.
How long does it take to create Zlata's look every
day?
Kate Elliot spends about an hour in the chair every day to create
this look.
