Head of the Shortland Street Make-Up Department, Rebecca Elliott shares some handy hints about how she transforms actress Amelia Reid into her character Bella Cooper.
Bella is a very colourful character. We try to reflect this in her hair and make-up. Amelia has beautiful skin so we use MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation because it gives the skin a dewy finish. We follow this with MAC Blotting Powder for any shine.
Her eyes are a mixture of SMASHBOX ‘Champagne’ on the lid, MAX Satin Taupe in the sockets and navy liquid liner.
Cheeks are rosy and we use MAC Spring Sheen and lips are usually a bright bold pink or tangerine.
Amelia has lovely long locks. We start with a big roll brush blow wave. Then we do large GHD waves, these are brushed out after with a paddle brush. To prevent hair drying out, we have discovered Shine Shake by MATRIX. It’s a leave in conditioning and protection spray. We use this mid length to ends just prior to blow waving and it really works miracles.
