Shorty star pays a visit to the operating theatre
The line between life and fiction blurred for Michael Galvin, aka Chris Warner, with a recent visit to Christchurch's charity hospital.
He donned scrubs and a stethoscope as he toured Canterbury Charity Hospital, even helping out on a real life consultation.
He was invited to the community funded hospital after his character Chris Warner’s onscreen focus on charity and pro-bono surgeries and Chris even referred to the hospital a recent episode.
“I can’t remember the last time I was in an actual operating theatre,” Galvin explained to Sunday News. “So this is a wonderful opportunity to see how a proper one works.”
The hospital recently celebrated the opening of a new $1.9 million wing and it’s hoped Galvin’s visit will help raise awareness of Canterbury Charity Hospital’s work.
Galvin also joked that he would now have one up on his Shorty castmates with his experience visiting the state-of-the-art operating theatre.
“It’s incredible to come here and see just how high tech it is,” Galvin told ONE News.
