Shorty St Hook-ups of 2010 pt 2
Make-ups, break-ups and hook-ups; it's been another busy year on the romance front for many of our Shorty Street faves.
Catch Part 1 of our hot couples of
2010 here.
Here's Part 2.
Hunter and Penny
Mid year, Hunter moved into a flat with his ex med school mate
Brodie and hospital orderly Penny Rourke.
He had a brief romance with Penny until he discovered that she was
trying to kill Scotty (a twisted vendetta to avenge her own
father's death).
Maia and Nicole
Nicole was definitely attracted to Maia Jeffries but learnt of
Maia's involvement in the death of Ethan Pierce in
2008 .
She put her misgivings aside and started seeing Maia even
though Maia admitted to being a murderer.
Their different lifestyles saw the relationship flounder and Nicole
left Maia in March.
Maia tracked Nicole down in Tauranga and convinced her to 'come
out' to her family and return to Ferndale with her.
Libby and Gerald
Gerald was devastated when his BFF Libby Jeffries left Ferndale mid
2010 for a job in the US.
However Libby unexpectedly returned to Ferndale and admitted she
needed a green card and had been kicked out of America.
They surprised friends and family when they announced they were to
marry - utilising Gerald's US citizenship, they headed back to the
States as Mr and Mrs Tippett.
TK and Jennifer
After a flirty kiss with Tania Jeffries, TK found himself drawn to
surgeon Jennifer Maison.
But TK found himself having trouble committing because he was still
fixated with ex-wife Sarah.
Kieran and Sophie
2010's biggest love story started last year, when bad-boy Kieran
Mitchell won the heart of naïve school-girl Sophie
McKay.
Despite the age difference, they became a couple. Against her
father's (and Kieran's) wishes, Sophie left school.
The two became engaged. Then she thought that Kieran killed Morgan
Braithwaite in
2009's season finale.
Sid (Kieran's brother) later confessed to the killings to get
Kieran off the hook. Then he fled the country with Kieran's
help.
Sophie married Kieran in March 2010. But the happiness was
short-lived and Sophie felt Kieran was still lying to her about
everything (she was right!)
She left Kieran and immediately leapt into a relationship with
her lecturer Ashton.
Kieran and Jane
IV staff member Jane started sending blackmail notes to Kieran,
telling him she knew that he was the one who had killed
Morgan.
It turned out that she had been getting her information from
Kieran's brother Sean, in Thailand.
Kieran decided that the best way to keep Jane quiet was to seduce
her.
The two also scammed money out of Maxwell's friend Henry and Kieran
persuaded Jane to leave the country.
Unfortunately his fling with Jane was the final nail in the coffin
for his estranged wife Sophie.
Sophie and Ash
Ashton turned out to be a controlling stalker and Sophie broke off
with him.
Kieran threatened him and warned him to stay away from
Sophie.
Then Kieran was killed when a Thai gang came to Ferndale to find
him.
Maxwell and Vasa
In mid 2010, Maxwell's estranged daughter Ula arrived on his
doorstep.
She was
soon joined by her mother Vasa .
They moved in with him and Sarah. Maxwell struggled to keep the
women in his life happy.
Vasa made it clear that she wanted to be with Maxwell again.
After a seductive one-night stand with Vasa, Maxwell confessed all
to Sarah and they ended their relationship.
He didn't pursue a relationship with Vasa either.
Brodie and Bella
Ditzy but well-meaning receptionist
Bella Cooper was won over by bar manager Brodie's charms, the
second time around.
Sophie McKay tried to set them up on a date to divert Brodie from
his crush on her.
Realising Sophie was never going to be interested in him, Brodie
looked at Bella in a new light and the pair quickly became one of
Shortland Street's cutest couples of 2010.
