Daniel struggles to juggle work priorities with looking after Sarah and Tillie.
Sarah doesn't want Daniel to give up his job as she wants him to retain his independence.
When Daniel is absent-minded at work, an understanding Murray grants him paid leave even though he isn't entitled to it.
Out of the blue, Daniel receives an intriguing job offer from the U.S.
Daniel is reluctant to tell Sarah but Lana advises him to be honest and not to repeat the mistakes she made with Gabrielle.
But Daniel doesn't get the chance when his chaotic home life intervenes.
With Sarah in bed, Daniel has quality cuddle time with baby Tillie and resigns himself to putting family commitments first. So he turns down the job offer.
After a hard day, Jonathon challenges Gabrielle to have a night off.
But Gabrielle can't think of anything more exciting than takeaways and a DVD so Jonathon whisks her off for a nice meal instead.
When Gabrielle starts talking work over dinner, Jonathon challenges her to be spontaneous and avoid talking shop. After a few drinks, they end up taking their fun to the bedroom.
Later the same night, Jonathon finds Gabrielle absorbed in her surgical prep and he realises that loving her means accepting her workaholic tendencies.
But when Nicole and Jonathon share a joke together and Gabrielle doesn't get it, Jonathon starts to realise his relationship may not spark on all levels.
A desperate Phoenix calls an ambulance for Jasmine. At home, Chris discovers Phoenix's car is missing and worries that the kids may be in danger.
Searching for Phoenix, Chris arrives on the scene and helps the ambulance officers resuscitate Jasmine.
Phoenix irrationally blames himself for Jasmine's condition and Chris tries to reassure him that its not his fault.
Shocked by Jasmines sudden death and resuscitation, Wendy and Murray find it hard to stay strong for Jasmine and they cling to each other for support.
When TK reports back that Jasmine has been diagnosed with Long
QT Syndrome, a heart condition, Wendy realises the implications for
the family - its hereditary.
Tuesday 6th September (4828)
The Coopers prepare for tests to determine which of them have Long QT syndrome.
Bella finds it hard to cope with the fact any of them could suffer heart failure and doesnt want to take the test.
Having just had her ICD implanted, Jasmine points out she would have done anything to have avoided her traumatic experience and encourages Bella to undergo the test.
She does and Brooke reveals the results - Murray and Evan are fine, but Wendy, Jasmine and Bella all have Long QT syndrome.
Reminded that she took an ECG on Jasmine last week but forgot to view it, Brooke berates herself for her negligence - earlier detection of Jasmines Long QT could have prevented her arrest.
When she confesses this a distraught Wendy tears strips off her. Later, Wendy apologises for her outburst, leaving Brooke feeling even worse.
Alex bolsters that Brooke is a good person and a good doctor and Brooke wishes she had enough faith in herself to believe him.
Jill sees Mona looking through a brochure for a retirement village but when Jill comments on it, Mona gets defensive and demands Jill keep out of her business.
Jill tells Callum and he thinks that if Mona is keen, it could be a good solution for them all. Mona is annoyed Jill didnt heed her warning to keep out of her business.
Witnessing Jill and Vinnies good relationship, Mona formulates a plan.
She orchestrates a ride home with Vinnie and insists he stay for a drink with Jill - during which Mona intentionally spills red wine on Vinnies shirt.
She take it off him and disappears, so when Callum arrives home he perceives Jill and a shirtless Vinnie in a compromising position.
The penny drops for Jill and she demands Mona explain herself.
Mona and Jill argue and as their accusations escalate, an
exasperated Callum finally intervenes, demanding they both leave
immediately.
Wednesday 7th September (4829)
Wendy is consumed with guilt for passing on the long QT
gene to Bella and Jasmine.
Jasmine rails at the unfairness of the situation but Bella struggles to accept the magnitude of her diagnosis.
Wendy urges Bella to face up to the reality of long QT syndrome but Bella finds it too confronting and can't.
Callum regrets his spur of the moment decision to order Mona and Jill out of the apartment. He attempts to make peace with Jill but fails.
Meanwhile, Mona wrangles a bed for the night at the hospital after claiming to be suffering from dizzy spells.
Brooke realises that Mona has used the hospital as a hotel and reports this to Callum.
Callum realises that Mona is having financial difficulties and Mona confesses that she has lost her savings and her house when the finance company she invested in collapsed.
Jill doesn't buy Monas story and insists that Callum check the facts, leaving Callum exasperated.
Daniel is challenged by Lana to tell Sarah about the job offer. He does but when Sarah encourages him to take the job he's unsure whether to take her at her word.
He seeks advice from TK who reassures him that Sarah will be well looked after.
Daniel tells Sarah that hes decided to take the job and Sarah genuinely assures him that she's glad but she'll miss him a great deal.
Nicole feels pressured when Vinnie refuses to help prepare for the spring luau. But Vinnie's preoccupied as he receives a reminder of his absent child.
He takes his bad mood out on Bella who is already distressed by her long QT diagnosis.
Feeling bad, Vinnie makes amends by helping Nicole with the luau via Lana.
Though frustrated by Vinnie's lack of respect for her flat things, Lana tries on Vinnies behalf but fails to secure a venue.
Certain an uptight Lana didn't try hard enough, he offers to host the party at his flat.
Overworked and under pressure, Lana comes home and is angry to see her things being used for a party she didn't condone.
Nicole tries to shut down the party but Vinnie refuses, and frustrated, Lana threatens to move out.
Vinnie dismisses Lana's justified complaints and parties on, however the other party guests notice Vinnie's manic party behaviour and are concerned .
Thursday 8th September (4830)
Nicole is convinced that something is driving Vinnie's obnoxious
behaviour. She tries to question him but he evades.
From Chris, Nicole learns of Vinnie's ex Jemima and that Jemima was pregnant when she and Vinnie left Ferndale.
When Nicole questions Vinnie, he reveals that he and Jemima broke up. Before Nicole can ask about his child, Vinnie shuts her down.
He apologises to Lana for his bad behaviour and makes an effort to get back to being a fun-loving, cheerful guy.
But when Bella tells Nicole about Vinnie ripping into her about there being marbles in the toy box which children could easily choke on, Nicole has an awful thought - maybe Vinnies child died.
Nicole pushes Vinnie to tell her all. Trapped, Vinnie reveals that he "lost" his child.
Assuming he means that the child died, Nicole feels terrible for pushing him to talk.
Trying not to think about her Long QT diagnosis, Bella chooses to focus on Zlata and she feels bad when she discovers Zlata has missed out on the reception job.
However when the chosen candidate doesn't turn up, Bella lobbies Lana and Callum to give Zlata a chance.
Callum feels sorry for the Cooper family and grants Bellas wish, to Luke and Zlata's delight.
However, as soon as Zlata gets behind the desk she begins acting more like Bella's boss than her co-worker.
Sarah assures Daniel she'll cope while he's in Mexico, but late night problems with breast feeding reignite his concerns.
Not wanting to be a burden to her son, Sarah covers her own worry and assures Daniel she has the support she needs.
Daniel leaves for Mexico and Sarah admits to Roimata that she fears her breast milk is drying up. Roimata suggests using a supply line but Sarah struggles to stay positive.
When Gabrielle advises Sarah to switch to formula to enable her to go on interferon treatment, Sarah flares up angrily but has to accept the inevitable.
She breaks down and laments to TK that, now she can no longer breast feed Tillie, her last vital link to her baby has been broken.
TK comforts a distraught Sarah, who fears she is losing her child.
Friday 9th September (4831)
A sympathetic Zlata learns about Bella's long QT.
Bella feels frustrated when Zlata insists on taking on most of the
jobs at the desk. Zlata is trying to be helpful out of concern for
Bella and Bella feels bad for complaining. However Zlatas zealous
dominance of the desk escalates, and an irritated Bella reasserts
her place in the pecking order.
Nicole sees Vinnie play a prank on Vasa. Still under the
misapprehension that Vinnie's son died, she's concerned about
Vinnie's methods to cope with his grief. Vinnie's
annoyed that Vasa is refusing to accept his UK portfolio to
progress his nursing levels.
He pulls another practical joke on Vasa and a furious Vasa tells
Nicole that Vinnie will have to redo his portfolio. Concerned
Vinnie has taken things too far, Nicole asks him to stop his
self-destructive behavior. Vinnie backs her off.
Bella clears out more marbles from the toy box - she doesn't want
any child dying like Vinnie's. Vinnie's bemused but Bella
clarifies that Nicole told her that his son died. Vinnie sets Bella
and Nicole straight - he lost his son in a custody case, not a
tragic death.
Nicole is mortified at her mistake but Vinnie manages to open up
about the pain of missing his kid. Nicole encourages him to stay
active in his role of father.
On the opening day of the Rugby World Cup, Brooke has a run in with
the All Blacks when she blocks their car in and loses her
keys. Thanks to an impressive exhibition of strength from the boys
in black, with a little help from Evan they manage to get Brooke's
car out of the way in time to head off to the first game of the
competition.
An exhausted TK returns home from caring for a fragile Sarah.
Roimata appreciates TKs efforts to be attentive to her despite his
tiredness. Roimata confides to Jill that her period is late and
suspects she may be pregnant. Jill encourages her to tell TK but
Roimata feels apprehensive.
TK has planned to spend the day caring for Sarah but is called in
to work when his locum is delayed. At work, a stressed TK struggles
to clear the backlog of work so he can get back to Sarah. An
apprehensive Roimata tells TK she thinks she's pregnant. She's
relieved by TK's enthusiastic response to the news.
Roimata feels good about having TK's baby but is disappointed to
discover she's not pregnant after all. TK arrives home after
dealing with an emotionally strained Sarah and Roimata tells him
the bad news. TK candidly responds with relief, leaving Roimata
feeling hurt.
