Monday 24th October (4861)
Post freak out, Roimata fears Vasa is going to come down hard on her but is surprised when she is understanding. Jill reveals that the child will be fine and Roimata resolves to keep her emotions in check in future. She tells TK of her meltdown but is further unsettled when he reveals that Sarah is coming out of rehab.
With Tillie about to be taken away from her, Roimata tries to distance herself from the baby. However, she soon finds caring for Tillie is unavoidable. Sarah collects Tillie and Roimata struggles to keep a lid on her emotions. With Tillie gone, Roimata feels a sense of loss and leans heavily on TK for support.
Nicole makes a real effort to keep her relationship with Maxwell positive. But then Bethany effortlessly connects with Maxwell and Nicole struggles not to be jealous. Bethany notes Nicoles annoyance to Maxwell and offers to back off, knowing this will win her favour with Maxwell.
She then connects with him over a game of basketball and Maxwell finds himself lying about his whereabouts to Nicole.
When Zlata goes out of her way to ensure Lukes family will be at their wedding Bella is reminded of Luke and Zlatas deep love.
However, Luke is deeply concerned when Zlata reveals her father is being unfairly detained by the Romanian government. Luke commits to help Zlata by paying a large bribe to release her father. Bella learns of Lukes plans and is troubled. She voices this to Lana who urges her not to get involved. After talking to Bella, Luke gets cold feet about sending the money and Zlata realises Bella has become an obstacle. Zlata approaches Bella and implores he to talk Luke into paying the bribe, claiming that unless she does Zlata will be forced to leave Luke and return to Romania. Out on Bella, wondering if she should deny Zlata and clear the way for her to win Luke's love.
Tuesday 25th October (4862)
Under pressure to talk to Luke on Zlata's behalf, Bella vents to Lana about her reluctance. Lana suspects Bella's hesitation is due to her feelings for Luke - not because she believes ill of Zlata.
Challenged to do the right thing, Bella advises Luke that if he loves Zlata, he should trust her. Fears allayed, Luke agrees to pay the forty thousand dollar bribe to get Zlata's father out of Romania.
Zlata's consequent happiness is almost too much for Bella to bear and she resolves not to involve herself in Luke and Zlata's relationship anymore.
When Lana discovers Bella contemplating taking beta blockers, Bella admits that she hopes the dulling effect of the medication will help ease her broken heart. Bella doubts she'll ever be happy without Luke but hopes she'll get over him in time.
Daniel is buoyed by Sarah's positive attitude and determination to handle Tillie's care independently. But soothing a grizzly Tillie is difficult and Daniel is concerned to learn that Sarah feels disconnected from Tillie. When Tillie continues to play up, Daniel secretly rings Roimata for advice, hoping to alleviate Sarah's stress. Roimata's trick works wonders and Daniel is relieved.
He pressures Roimata to visit Tillie and pass on other techniques to soothe her. When Roimata arrives, she's perturbed to learn that Sarah is away at a neurologist appointment. Daniel assures her its fine, but Sarah returns home early is curious to find Roimata holding Tillie - and a checklist of dos and don'ts.
Daniel admits Roimata came over at his request and Sarah is hurt that he doesn't trust her either. Daniel realises he's betrayed Sarah in the worst possible way.
Wanting to avoid time alone with Bethany after their shared spark, Maxwell chooses to involve Nicole in their Wellness Clinic brainstorm session. But Bethany has other ideas, and, on learning Vasa needs cover for an afternoon shift, she engineers for Nicole to be absent during her and Maxwell's meeting.
Despite Bethany's offer of wine, Maxwell convinces himself he can keep things strictly business. But Bethany's alluring charm soon has Maxwell relaxing and he's thrown when Bethany kisses him.
Wednesday 26th October (4863)
Danie'ls apologies land on deaf ears, and Sarah orders him to give her some space. Feeling awful, Roimata relates the situation to TK and confides it's Daniel she feels sorry for. TK seeks Daniel out and, after hearing his story, decides that he needs to talk to Sarah before she pushes everyone away. An emotional Sarah admits she's still terrified of losing Tillie and TK counsels her to ask for help. Sarah finally accepts this and apologises to Daniel.
Maxwell backs Bethany off and she tries to blame him for giving off misleading signals. But Maxwell genuinely loves Nicole and he reaffirms his love for her - without telling her about Bethanys kiss. Later, he admits he returns Bethany's feelings but orders Bethany to stay away so as not to jeopardise his relationship with Nicole.
Jill enjoys time with Callum now Mona is out of the picture but she's frustrated when he prioritises work. Keen to have lunch with Callum, Jill is thwarted by opposing schedules. Vasa refuses to change her break, forcing Jill to sneak out of the hospital with Vinnie's help. Jill is caught in the act and is sent to Callum for a reprimand. When his rebukes turns saucy, Jill thinks she stumbled on a way to get more attention from Callum.
When Gabrielle suggests Jonathon's stalled career is the source of his discontent, Jonathan hopes she right and decides to push himself at work. He's disappointed when Chris turns him down for an exciting surgery. Determined to help, Gabrielle goes over Chriss head and gets Callum to overturn the decision.
Post-op, Jonathan is on a high but as Gabrielle declares her love and expectations for their future, Jonathan realises he can't return the sentiment. Feeling guilty, Jonathon admits he doesn't love Gabrielle anymore. Confused, Gabrielle seeks clarification and Jonathan asserts that he's feeling discontent with their relationship, not his career. Their relationship is over, leaving Gabrielle shocked and hurt.
Thursday 27th October (4864)
Jonathon wants to talk things through with Gabrielle but shes unable to cope when he comes too close, making her freeze. When Chris arrives after their encounter, an upset Gabrielle orders him to hold her very tightly and she feels reassured by the embrace. But Gabrielle wont talk and Chris is left worrying.
Chris confronts Jonathon and when he learns he has ended his relationship he tells Jonathon to keep his distance, fearing hell hurt her further. But when Chris pledges his support to Gabrielle she turns him down, insisting he keep away from her too. Rachel advises him to stay out of it, Chris cant shake his concern and tells Lana about the situation.
Lana looks for Gabrielle , only to learn from Vasa that Gabrielle has taken a last minute holiday.
Vinnie gets the brush off from Brooke at the bar but he assures Maxwell that his kindness will win her over. Vinnie tries hard to get Brookes approval on the wards, but when he gets a bad response hes left wondering if hell ever hit the mark with Brooke.
When he confides in Maxwell, hes challenged by Maxwells view of Brooke. Vinnie turns up at the bar dressed to kill with champagne and is sure hes on to a winner idea. Brooke accepts the champagne but bails early insisting he shouldnt push his luck. Vinnie is left feeling used but oddly challenged by Brooke.
Jill is naughty at home and is delighted to get Callums undivided attention. Rachel reports to Chris that the DHB want to prioritise surgical tourism over general surgery at the hospital. Chris is concerned by the DHB news but is surprised to find Callum will battle to ensure general surgery stays.
Rachel has her doubts, but shes pleased when Callum fights to keep all surgeries intact at the hospital. Rachel is forced to pin her support to Callum for the future of the hospital but is annoyed when Callum immediately seeks media attention to push his name. Jill plots a cunning plan to get some time with Callum but she and Callum are appalled to be busted by the media in an embarrassing situation.
Friday 28th October (4865)
Callum is mortified that the reporter and photographer have discover him in a compromising position with Jill. He's sure it will appear in the newspaper article and once the DHB find out, his job and the hospital's reputation will be in jeopardy.
Callum goes to Rachel who regrets aligning with him, well aware
that she will also be a casualty of his stupidity. Chris refuses to
let Rachel lose her job and insists on having time to try and
salvage the situation. Rachel agrees but she doesn't think theres
anything he can do. The newspaper arrives and Callum is stunned to
find they haven't printed a word about his impropriety. He
approaches Rachel, who realises Chris must have pulled some
strings. A sheepish Callum thanks Chris who slams his incompetence
and rankles over the fact that he was forced to save Callum in
order to save his department.
Ula reluctantly begins her sculpture for the national competition.
When she meets new boy, Tom, and he teases her about her effort,
she decides to keep him on the outer by monopolising her friends
time with her sculpture. Tom slowly wins Jasmine and Phoenix round
and then trumps Ula by stealing her supplies and making a better
sculpture than hers.
Maxwell is relieved when Bethany tells him that she plans to return
to Australia tomorrow night. However, he's disappointed when Nicole
is asked to go on a surgical nurse training course at short notice.
Maxwell receives good news when the sponsor Bethany arranged agrees
to fund the wellness clinic. He shares his delight with Bethany,
giving her a glimmer of hope. Maxwell is let down when Nicole
doesnt share his delight at his good news.
He throws himself into work to try and forget Bethany but ends
up missing her expert knowledge. He tries to get closure by sending
her a farewell text but Bethany reads between the lines and cancels
her flight. She turns up on his doorstep and challenges Maxwell to
deny his feelings. He can't and they give in to their mutual
desire.
