Monday 21st November (4881)
Callum is dismayed to learn from Jill how far short the green schemes targets are falling, but remains determined to meet the twenty percent goal he has rashly promised the media. Senior staff are openly sceptical, but Callum brainstorms fresh ideas, including parking charges as a disincentive for staff to bring their cars to work.
When its pointed out that doctors have free carparks promised in their contracts, Jill realises the new charges will only affect nurses, and she warns that mutiny could follow. Callum comes up with a combo of carless days and vehicle surcharges that mollify the nurses but annoys the doctors.
Chris returns from Seattle and learns of Harrys budding romance. He gives his son advice which backfires when the older Natalie laughs at Harrys offer of flowers. Harry rejects his fathers help and turns again to Murray, who gives Harry a carefully staged ride on the back of his just-repaired motorbike. Harry is thrilled that his new cool factor got Natalies attention, but Chris is left feeling that he is running second to Murray in the parenting stakes.
Nicole is devastated by Maxwells betrayal and seeks refuge with TK and Roimata. Vasa can see how miserable she is and tries to help by sending Nicole home from work early. Nicole heads straight for the bar, where she finds a sympathetic drinking buddy in Vinnie. However, when she makes a drunken advance on him to get her own back on Maxwell, Vinnie gently rejects her.
Vasa wants to stop Nicole from following a self-destructive path
and visits her to explain that she urged Maxwell not to confess
immediately, and so feels partly to blame. Vasa hopes she has
mollified Nicole, only to find that Nicole has indulged in a one
night stand and refuses to let anyone else dictate her
behaviour.
Tuesday 22nd November (4882)
Maxwell distracts Ula from thoughts of Tom with a dinner invitation. Ulas surprised Nicole won't be joining them, and a guilty Maxwell covers that they've had a fight. Ulas sympathetic, but after dinner, she's shocked to witness Nicole flirting with a stranger. Ula is disgusted to learn Maxwell cheated and she flees to Tom as an excuse for comfort.
Vasa is worried and Maxwell feels terrible. Maxwell tries to talk Nicole out of her self-destruction but gets backed off by TK. Alerted by Maxwell's concern, Roimata tries to talk to Nicole, but Nicole is too hurt to take her words onboard.
Ula prolongs her absence, drawing ever closer to Tom. But when she returns Vasa challenges her to be more sympathetic to Maxwell's suffering.
Fobbing Daniel off with excuses, a desperate Hunter meets with dealer Bailey - only to learn that Bailey's supply has run dry.
Hunter realises that he needs more money if he wants drugs from Bailey's contact, Oz. Hunter talks Callum into loaning him more money, but when he tries to rip off Oz the dealer, he takes the cash and scarpers without providing Hunter the drugs he needs.
Hunter attempts to hide his agitation but Callum's concern lingers, leading him to ask Daniel to keep an eye on his son.
Despite her dedication to the Green Scheme, Bella struggles to cope with the added workload. She feels like a fool when Callum points out her social club flyers are wasting paper. Bella assures Callum she'll try harder, but he catches her out using a screensaver instead of the Green Schemes powersave mode.
Callum charges Bella with ensuring everyone is using powersave mode. Bella jumps at the chance to prove herself and she's bolstered when Jill praises her efforts. Bella is surprised to discover none of the computers in ED have powersave mode and she adjusts the settings herself. Callum congratulates himself and Jill on reaching the twenty percent waste reduction target.
But in ED, the computer's powersave mode cause a dangerous
time-lag when Maxwell attempts to access vital patient files. Hes
forced to rely on guesswork in an attempt to save the patients
life.
Wednesday 23rd November (4883)
Maxwell is relieved when he makes the right call with the patients anaesthetic but he blames Callums green initiatives for the situation occurring. But Callum blames Bella for putting the ED computers on powersave mode and Bella feels dreadful. She apologises to Maxwell, who is appalled that Callum has passed the buck. He decides to boycott Callums green initiatives, annoying Callum.
But Callum is intrigued when TK reveals Maxwells break-up with Nicole. Callum uses Maxwells turbulent personal life to discredit Maxwells legitimate concerns and Maxwell is frustrated. He learns that TK was responsible for letting Callum know about Nicole and reacts angrily. TK is unrepentant and Maxwell realises that he has damaged all of his relationships. He despairs but Ula sees his suffering and takes pity on him, comforting Maxwell.
Luke is impressed by Bellas dedication to Callums green initiative. But he feels for her over her mistake with the ED computers and supports her when she apologises to Maxwell. Luke wants to look after an upset Bella but is called away by Zlata to deal with wedding arrangements. Luke is tempted to put Zlata off to stay with Bella but realises his duty is to his fiancee.
Daniel advises Hunter to tell Callum about his stint in rehab. Hunter agrees to, but only to get Daniel off his back. However, instead of revealing the truth, Hunter asks for more money.
Callum refuses and Hunter is forced to try and sell his watch to Bailey for drugs. Bailey tells Hunter to come back when he has something worthwhile. Daniel discovers that Hunter didnt come clean with Callum and accuses him of still being on drugs. Hunter denies and suggests Daniel is projecting his insecurities onto him.
Meanwhile, Jill is nervous about attending a DHB dinner with
Callum. Roimata loans Jill a family heirloom necklace which helps
Jill feel more confident about fitting in with Callums peers.
However, Hunter mistakenly believes that Callum bought the necklace
for Jill and feels resentful. Desperate for drugs, he steals the
necklace.
Thursday 24th November (4884)
Jill and Callum realise Roimata's necklace must have been stolen as Jill showered. Meanwhile, Hunter has obtained drugs and, feeling good, he successfully forgets his guilt at stealing the necklace. Callum and Jill break the news to Roimata.
Disappointed, Roimata tells Jill the necklace is insured but admits its value as a family heirloom is irreplaceable. Hunter overhears and feels bad that the necklace actually belonged to Roimata. Callum calls him in to explain the necklace was stolen - he's looked over security footage and Hunter was seen in the corridor at the time. Hunter's stunned, thinking the game is up. But Callum queries if Hunter saw anyone behaving suspiciously and Hunter's hugely relieved to have escaped suspicion.
Lana and Costel's paths cross and Lana takes Costel's flirtatious compliments with good humour. Daniel sees Costel flirting with Lana and intervenes, finding Costel sleazy. However, Lana's still not impressed with Daniel after his assault on Jonathon and she backs him off, defending Costel.
Lana bumps into Costel in the bar and, this time, finds his insistent attention overbearing. Costel mutters a lewd comment to Daniel about Lana and Daniel lashes out, furious with him for being so disrespectful. Lana chastises Daniel for acting aggressively.
Later, Daniel is confronted by Costel who threatens him, and his cool violence leaves Daniel seriously shaken. Daniel tells Lana and they decide there must be more to Costel than meets the eye. They are shocked to discover Costel was a interrogator for the Securitate and is wanted for war crimes in Romania.
Bella and Luke share a tender moment together and Luke's left unsettled. Bella confides to Lana that she's realised theres no way she can sit through Lukes wedding and risk hurting her friends. She decides she has to leave and tells Zlata she's leaving for work in Sydney and won't make the wedding.
Luke hears and the thought of losing Bella shakes him to his core. He confides in Chris, admitting he can't let Bella leave because hes in love with her.
Friday 25th November (4885)
Caught out by Luke's revelation, Chris suggests he tell Bella
how he feels.
Meanwhile, Lana and Daniel seek out Zlata to tell her Costel is a
wanted war criminal but she doesn't take the news well.
Luke tries to tell Bella about his feelings for her, but he's cut
short by a tearful Zlata, upset over Lana and Daniel's accusations.
Zlata confides her version of the truth about her father, asserting
hes a good man and just wants to escape persecution.
Recommitting to his fiancee, Luke warns Daniel and Lana off
upsetting her again, but Daniel's still suspicious of Costel. Chris
wonders how Luke went with Bella, and is surprised to learn that
Luke is still with Zlata. Upset that things have gone from bad to
worse with Luke, Bella sticks to her plan to head overseas.
Approaching Gabrielle to collaborate on a surgery, Chris is puzzled
when she firmly backs him off. He mulls over her strange behaviour
with Rachel, and Wendy updates him on Gabrielle's meltdown after
the break-up with Jonathon. Chris tries to talk this through
with Gabrielle and refuses to leave when she tries to back him off
again.
He eventually coaxes Gabrielle into revealing she thinks she's
incapable of successful long-term relationships, but she's buoyed
when Chris counters their relationship was great - and he still
cares about her deeply.
Gabrielle reads into this too much, and Lana's troubled when she
asserts Chris is still in love with her.
Brooke is irritated when Sarah criticises her over the care of a
patient referred from GP services. Sarah tries to commit to her new
position, but her plans are left askew when childcare falls
through.
She's rattled to realise she's left a serious condition
undiagnosed in a patient, but can't pass on the news due to her
mothering commitments. Sarah manages to pass on the job to a
reluctant Brooke, who grumbles to Vinnie about Sarah's bad
attitude.
Supporting Brooke in a bid to charm her, Vinnie drives her to see
the patient and they're alarmed to find him unconscious. The
patient makes it to the hospital safely, but both Brooke and Sarah
blame themselves for the close call. Vinnie supports an upset
Brooke, and he's delighted when their close moment leads to
passion.
