Murray Cooper
Wendy's husband Murray has a heart of gold which is often
disguised by his gruff exterior.
A practical and resourceful man, Murray keeps an eye out for
business opportunities.
He believes that hard work pays off and believes his business
failures are a result of bad timing and bad luck.
In truth, Murray has a habit of leaping into business ventures
without researching them thoroughly enough.
In his late teens, Murray was barely out of school when Wendy
fell pregnant with Bella.
After the baby was born it was decided that Murray would work and
support Wendy through her nursing degree.
Murray jumped at the chance to prove himself and has worked a
variety of jobs, including managing bars and construction work,
leading to owning an independent petrol station which went under a
while back.
Wendy has returned to nursing now that their younger children Evan
and Jasmine are in secondary school but Murray is determined to
remain the main breadwinner of the family.
Murray is currently working as Manager/owner of the IV Bar across
the road from the hospital.
At Christmas 2010, his son Evan went missing and was later
discovered 'squatting' in Callum and Rachel's unrenovated apartment
block.
Evan accidentally started the fire there but was saved by
Murray.
Evan went to court. Murray didn't believe that the fire was an
accident and came down hard on Evan.
But eventually he realised the truth and it brought him closer to
Evan.
In early 2011 Murray found himself inextricable drawn to gorgeous
nurse Vasa Levi - the two shared several kisses but when Wendy
found out, Murray realised how wrong he had been.
He and Wendy drew closer together.
