Unfortunately for Brooke, Rachel gets rid of her unreliable temp PA and Brookes first job as 2IC becomes serving tea and biscuits at a meeting of the Surgical Department, in front of a very smug Vinnie.

Hunters lawyer explains to Callum that following his not guilty plea later in the day, Hunter will be released from remand if he has a court-approved address to live at until his trial.
Callum cant believe Hunter is asking for this kind of help, but Rachel points out that Hunter is ill and needs support, just like she did during the darkest days of her alcoholism.
However, when Callum realises how distressed and angry Roimata is about Jills death, he realises he is in no state to support his son through drug withdrawal.
Hunter is shaken to be told that without his fathers support he will be kept on remand for months. He is very relieved when Callum has a change of heart at the court and cant let Hunter go back to prison. But is Callum truly prepared for what he has taken on?

Callum brings Hunter home to his apartment after he's bailed on remand. Hunter is desperate for a fix and is annoyed when his efforts to find medication in Callum's apartment are thwarted.
Maxwell and Nicole offer Callum their help when they see how challenging it is for Callum to control Hunter. But Maxwell and Nicole underestimate just how desperate Hunter is and Hunter manages to steal Maxwell's phone to contact a drug dealer.
Hunter's efforts are successful and the drugs are delivered without raising Maxwell and Nicole's suspicion. When Callum returns from an appointment he is on high alert, and he busts Hunter about to take his drugs.
Callum is furious with Hunter and Hunter goads Callum to hit him, wanting his father to hate him for the terrible things hes done. But Callum can't and backs down.
Deciding that Hunter needs to face the truth, Callum asks Sarah if Hunter can visit Daniel. Sarah is reluctant, but since Daniel has asked twice to see Hunter, she finally agrees.
Hunter is confronted by the state Daniel's in and can't answer his questions about Hunter's lies and why he didnt come to Daniel for help.
Daniel's disappointed and thinks Hunter is unwilling to accept what he's done. Hunter flees the room and seconds later he sees a crash cart going to Daniels aid.
Panicked, Hunter returns to Daniels ward to see that hes having a seizure. Hunter feels responsible for bringing more suffering on his mate

Callum and Maxwell drag Hunter away from Daniel's bed and Hunter is left fearful hes made Daniel's situation worse.
But Callum blames himself for ignoring Nicole's advice and Sarah's concerns and insisting Hunter meet with Daniel. In spite of Gabrielle's advice that Hunter didn't cause the seizure, when Sarah runs into Hunter in the cafeteria she attacks him, blinded by anger.
Forced to comfort Hunter, Callum experiences his lowest ebb as a parent when Hunter wishes he was dead. At home, Hunter tries to push Callum into letting him run away. Callum counters by pledging to be there for Hunter.
At the hospital, Sarah is given hope when Daniel wakes up and, despite laboured speech, still has his sense of humour.
Rachel encourages Callum to take as much leave as he needs but Callum stands down permanently as CEO, insisting Rachel is the hospital's natural leader.
Moved by his dad's sacrifice, Hunter pushes through his depression and starts to eat.

Rachel is concerned that Gabrielle wont be able to perform the fetal surgery for spina bifida with Chris.
Chris knows that Gabrielle is still upset with him and tactfully withdraws from the operation.
Seth Packhurst is unimpressed with the last minute change and Rachel refuses to reinstate Chris, despite Seths warning that the DHB approval of her as CEO depends on the success of the operation.
Rachel is relieved when the operation is a success but Gabrielle feels bad for not being able to put aside her personal feelings to work with Chris.
Chris reassures her but is caught out by Seth and Rachel
discussing their infidelity. Seth is unimpressed with Rachels
indulging of Chris and Gabrielles personal problems and thinks
Rachels ability to
manage her staff has been compromised. He suggests she may be
better off finding a job away from personal distractions.

makes it clear she is there for the boys, not for Chris.
He challenges her to tell him whether they are going to try to
rebuild their relationship.
Rachel considers giving a it a try, but Chris is thrown when she
supposes it would involve turning a blind eye to him sleeping with
other women when he is too weak to resist.
Chris insists he doesn't want this, and that he can control his
addiction the way she has controlled hers, but Rachel's not
convinced.
However, when Seth offers Rachel the CEO role, she decides to take
it, choosing to stay with Chris by proxy. Chris and Rachel reunite,
but on strict terms - he's going to have to work hard to regain her
trust.
