Friday 16th December (4900) SEASON FINALE
Alarmed about her pregnancy, Ula can't bring herself to tell
Vasa the truth. She considers telling Tom but Nicole is unsettled
to learn shes backed out at the last minute.
Without revealing anything, Nicole urges Maxwell to talk to his
daughter, but Ula assures him she's fine and lies to Nicole that
shes not pregnant after all.
Jill fails to convince Callum that Hunters on drugs and Callum
turns his focus to Maxwell, determined to undermine Tyrone
Tuatasi.
Callum is hopeful he and Maxwell have enough dirt on Tyrone to
convince him to drop the case. Tyrone is unfazed by Callums
accusations, but he's rattled when Murray claims to have security
footage of him baiting Nicole at the bar.
Its a lie on Murray's part, but Tyrone doesn't call the bluff
and Callum is victorious.
Unable to forget Gabrielle's promise that shell wait for him, Chris
struggles to keep his focus on Rachel, and a physically close
moment with Gabrielle sends a flustered Chris running.
However, when he falls out with Rachel at Callums celebratory
party, Chris can't resist going to Gabrielle and kissing her.
Despite knowing he's out of options, Hunter is torn when Bailey
insists they burgle a pharmacy.
Convinced Hunter has a drug problem, Jill and Daniel piece together
his recent thefts and Daniel hopes he can track Hunter via his
stolen phone.
Hunter's reluctant to go ahead with the robbery, but when Bailey
makes it look easy, Hunter can't resist getting involved.
Jill and Daniel follow his phone to the pharmacy, and Daniel heads
inside in pursuit of Hunter. Hunter's surprised by his arrival, but
Bailey deals with the problem by knocking Daniel unconscious.
Shocked, Hunter hurries to aid Daniel as Jill. They want to call
for an ambulance, but Bailey refuses and makes his getaway as a
security guard arrives.
Frightened, the security guard reacts when Hunter tries to follow
Bailey, slashing at him with a knife. Jill gets in the way, and
Hunter is horrified when shes stabbed.
Thursday 15th December (4899)
Maxwell is frustrated that he fell into Tyrones trap and admits
to Nicole that he wanted to protect her. Nicole understands but
worries about what Tyrone will do next.
Maxwel is further dismayed when Callum points out that the bad
publicity has discredited the hospitals argument against Tyrone and
damaged Nicoles case.
Maxwell realises that with Murrays help he can prove Tyrone set him
and Nicole up, but Nicole warns him off making things worse.
She praises him for trying and they share a close moment which
leads to a kiss. Maxwell hopes they will reconcile but Nicole
refuses to try, hurting Maxwell.
Hunter is desperate for money to buy drugs and decides to steal
from Callum. But Callum catches him in the apartment and is
convinced Hunter is on drugs.
Hunter denies and is forced into agreeing to a drug test.
Hunter covertly contacts Bailey, asking Bailey to provide him with
clean urine. Hunters deception is successful and he passes the
test, leaving Callum feeling terrible for misjudging his son.
However, Jill suspects that Hunter cheated and argues with Callum
who remains determined to believe Hunter. Meanwhile, Hunter uses
Callums distraction to steal his wallet, intent buying drugs.
Ula argues with Tom and Evan is concerned when he sees Tom snub her
in favour of his other friends. Ula worries that she might be
pregnant and seeing her misery, Evan offers to cheer her up with a
DVD session at his place.
His romantic feelings for her are encouraged when Ula enjoys his
company. However, hes disappointed when Tom arrives and Ula agrees
to go with him to talk.
Ula and Tom resolve their differences and Ula feels confident
enough of his support to find out if shes pregnant.
Nicole finds Ula in a state of shock and Ula confesses that she is
scared. When Nicole presses to know why, Ula reveals that she has
taken a test and is pregnant.
Wednesday 14th December (4898)
Chris is tempted by Gabrielle's frank declaration of love, but
he resists and insists that he can't return it because he loves
Rachel.
However, a conflicted Chris doesn't report the confession to
Rachel. Gabrielle's feelings are reinforced when she sees how Bella
and Luke's star-crossed love has eventually flourished.
Chris tries to put Gabrielle out of his mind, but is left
incredibly tempted when she maintains she will wait for him.
Staving off withdrawal, Hunter sinks to stealing from his mates to
finance his addiction. Not knowing the extent of Hunter's actions,
Vinnie gets Callum involved, but Hunter refuses Callums help.
Hunter makes off with Lana's jewellery box, and later, Daniel's
smart phone. Now certain Hunter has a drug problem, Callum and Jill
begin to plan an intervention as Hunter finds his haul is
worthless. Bailey agrees to finance Hunter's hit for today, but
it's up to Hunter to provide next time. Hunter readily
agrees.
Ula is disgruntled that she is being treated too casually by Tom,
and complains to Nicole. Nicole advises that Ula test Tom to see
what he truly wants out of their relationship. Ula resolves to put
this into practice.
Television news features compelling interviews from Maxwell, Sarah
and Callum about the risks of violence on hospital staff, but
Nicole remains convinced she will still be charged.
Determined to help, Maxwell does some unofficial snooping through
ED records from other hospitals and finds that Tyrone has a track
record of violence. Maxwell reports this to Tyrone, advising him to
drop his case but instead he looks to set up more evidence to
strengthen it.
At the I.V., Tyrone tries to goad Nicole into another violent
response. Nicole resists, but when Maxwell intervenes, Tyrone's
friend takes a photo that shows Maxwell assaulting an apparently
terrified Tyrone. Maxwell realises he has just been
framed.
Tuesday 13th December (4897)
Luke feels terrible for embarrassing Bella and tries to reassure
that now their relationship is out, people will soon stop talking
about them.
However, Bella is on the receiving end of some teasing and believes
her reputation is ruined forever. Luke realises that Bella is
taking all the flack and he makes a public declaration of his love
and commitment to her.
Bella is bowled over and in spite of all the obstacles, Luke
finally sweeps her off to the Penlington to consummate their
love.
Daniel is anxious to get his work done quickly and decides to use
the surgical tourism framework to mock up a demonstration model -
hell write original code if he secures the contract. Rachels
impressed and hes hopeful hell get to join Lana on holiday.
But Daniels cellphone is damaged and when he comes into the
hospital to get Lanas contact number, Rachel reveals a huge amount
of work still to do on the tender. Disappointed, Daniel puts aside
thoughts of Lana to focus on work.
Brooke is annoyed when Bree gets a job at the hospital. But when
Vinnie sets up a chance for the sisters to chat, Brooke is
sympathetic to Brees history and is disturbed to find herself
caring. Not ready for this, Brooke decides to leave.
Later, Nicole, TK and Roimata meet Bree and get along with her
immediately. They tell Brooke what a lovely sister she has and
Brooke feels irked that Bree is securing a place in her
world.
Chris is furious with Hunter for attacking Gabrielle, so much so
that she questions his feelings for her. Chris insists that hes
protecting her as a friend. Gabrielle is disappointed but tries to
accept this.
When Chris has to play Santa for the medical ward, Gabrielle
volunteers to be his elf to prove to herself she can be a friend.
However, seeing Chris being so lovely with the kids fuels
Gabrielles feeling of love and she has to flee the ward.
Later, a worried Chris seeks her out and Gabrielle confesses that
shes been denying her feelings for a long time and still loves him.
Gabrielle cites Chriss continuing need to protect her as proof that
he loves her too, and Chris finds himself on the verge of kissing
her.
Monday 12th December (4896)
Brooke struggles to believe Bree is really her sister, but a
phone call to Annette confirms, leaving Brooke floored.
Nicole challenges Brooke to give Bree a chance and Brooke tries,
but when Bree wrongly praises Brooke's research success and then
reveals she is a surgeon, Brooke feel like a failure by
comparison.
She rejects Bree, but Vinnie is certain that Brooke is in denial of
her need for family. He bolsters Bree not to give up. Later, Brooke
and Vinnie draw closer, with Brooke believing Bree can be safely
forgotten.
She's surprised to find Bree applying for a job at Shortland Street
and is furious when she learns Vinnie put her up to it.
Callum worries about Hunter's absence and his state of mind, but he
has to put this aside to push on with his plan to support Nicole's
case.
He prepares to do a TV interview with a journalist who wants to
present an accusing account of staff injuring patients. Callum
provides some sobering statistics of drunk patients attacking ED
staff and hopes he's done enough to sway the journalist to use this
angle instead.
Feeling guilty about Zlata, Luke is worried he's viewed as fickle
and Bella is certain she's thought a scarlet woman. She's appalled
to discover her Christmas costume is a stripper's outfit but takes
heart from Nicole's assurance that the gossip about her and Luke
will die down if they keep their romance private for a while.
At the same time, Chris bolsters Luke to be strong for Bella and
not to worry about what people think. In the lift, Luke declares
his intention to protect Bella, then agrees the best way to do this
is to keep their relationship discreet. They kiss passionately,
causing the lift doors to open unexpectedly.
Luke tries to right himself by grabbing the front of Bella's
costume, tearing it away due to velcro fastenings. Bella is
humiliated anew to be exposed in front of colleagues - in a
semi-naked lift romp with Luke.
