Struggling to cope with the magnitude of Daniel's (Ido Drent) injuries and the full time care of baby Tille (Nalani Rose Tuhoe), Sarah takes comfort by Zac's domestic support. Helping out with some much needed domestic labour, Sarah is warmed when their attraction for each other grows.

Realising a budding romance is developing between the pair, Daniel is quick to take out his own romantic frustrations and delivers Sarah some home truths of his own.

Hunter's (Lee Donoghue) attempt at redemption gets off to a shaky start this week on Shortland Street.

Attending his first day at the hospital's new drug and alcohol unit, Hunter is shaken by the realisation of his situation. With Roimata (Shavaughn Ruakere) disturbed with his presence in the hospital, Hunter is hurt, so when Nicole's (Sally Martin) wallet disappears from the cafeteria, Hunter sets to solve the mystery.

Passing on his suspicion to counsellor Rose (Nicole Tubiola) that the thief was hardened addict Slade (Benjamin Brown), Hunter is taken aback when Slade venomously denies being the culprit. Convinced he is to blame for the crime, Hunter is left shaken when he realises who the finger is being pointed at.
