Best On The Box 2015
Shortland St sweetheart Frankie Adams (Ula Levi) was voted the Sexiest Woman in Auckland by Metro magazine last year, now she’ll compete for a second ‘Sexiest Woman’ title with the announcement that she’s been nominated in TV Guide’s Best on The Box Awards. Can she make it back to back wins?
In Metro’s Best of Auckland Awards she bet strong competition from Maria Tutaia and Pippa Wetzell. Now the Bonds underwear ambassador will battle it out against Hayley Holt, Toni Street, Pippa Wetzell, Rose Matafeo and Ali Pugh for TV Guide’s coveted title.
“I’m stoked to be nominated against such other amazing ladies and I can’t wait to find out who will win!”
Other Shortland Street nominees include Cameron Jones who plays ambo Dallas Adams and Ben Mitchell (TK Samuels), who will battle it out for the Sexiest Man Award. “I’m getting too old for this sexiest man competition, I’m hoping Cam takes it out on behalf on Shorty Street.”
Pua Magasiva (Vinnie Kruse) is up for Best Actor and last year’s Best Actress winner, Amanda Billing (Sarah Potts) is nominated yet again. Last year Billing made headlines and created an extraordinary nationwide outpouring of grief when her long-running character died of a mysterious virus. “The quite bizarre public reactions to Sarah Potts’ death show just how invested New Zealanders can become in their favourite home-grown TV characters,” says TV Guide editor Julie Eley.
Shortland Street has also been nominated for Best Drama Series up against a host of other well-known NZ series. To cast your votes go to www.bestonthebox.co.nz. All voters will go into the draw to win a 42’ Smart TV from LG and a 12-month subscription gift card to Quickflix. Voting closes 5pm Friday, March 6. Be sure to check back to see if your favourites won; winners will be announced Thursday, March 19.
