Shorty wins with TV Guide Best on The Box Awards!
The winners in the country's biggest People's Choice Awards have
been announced and the people have decided that Shortland Street is
New Zealand's Best Drama Series for 2012!
The annual TV Guide Best on the Box Awards saw people from around
New Zealand voting for their favourite personalities and television
shows and in the year of its 20th anniversary, the country's
longest running drama series took out the honours.
Shortland Street producer Steven Zanoski couldn't be happier that
the fans have spoken in favour of the show.
"We at Shortland Street are thrilled to win the Best on The Box
Award for Best Drama. These awards mean more than your readers will
ever know because they come directly from the viewers and after 20
years of creating the show it's a great feeling to know that it's
still a viewer's favourite!"
Shortland Street star Amanda Billing (Dr Sarah Potts) was also
acknowledged for her incredible work, taking out the Best Actress
Award.
"I was up against some amazingly talented ladies so I am incredibly
surprised that I won!" she says. "But it's lovely to know that
people have been watching and that the character resonates with
them."
