Beth Allen
Auckland born Shortland Street beauty Beth Allen started acting
at the tender age of eleven, when she was cast in a TV commercial
for Whitcoulls.
After being beaten in speech and drama competitions at school by
fellow student Anna Jullienne (who played nurse Maia Jeffries),
Beth appeared in many TV roles including Riding High, Xena and
Outrageous Fortune.
She also appeared on The Tribe.
Beth shares her on-screen character Brooke Freeman's penchant for shoes, dinners out, and lipgloss!
In 2008 Beth took to the stage, performing in The Eight:
Reindeer Monologues, alongside several other Shorty Street
stars.
Since then, Beth has dedicated much of her time to theatre,
co-producing and starring in the Basement Theatre's Christ
Almighty!, Killer Joe, Vagina Monologues and Toys.
In the summer of 2009 Beth took part in several Sovereign Swim
Series around New Zealand, swimming distances of up to 2.8km in the
ocean.
In early 2011, Beth married her partner, Charlie McDermott.
Beth's favourite things to do off-set include cooking,
travelling, lazing at the beach and gardening.
