Sharks are in dire straits - a quarter of the world's sharks and rays are threatened with extinction according to The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species released on the 22nd of January 2014. But hunters continue to kill sharks at an alarming rate (close to 70 million sharks every year).
New generation shark scientist Riley Elliott and his heroic peers are untiring in their work as shark guardians. They are passionate and committed to finding out more about sharks and doing more to protect them.
SHARK MAN follows Riley and his research efforts as he works with this new generation of shark enthusiasts raising awareness, researching and getting more hands on than all the generations before.
Riley is our host, our guide, our friend. He talks to the audience down the barrel and his fellow shark guardians will do the same, giving the audience real involvement and inclusion in their adventures.
SHARK MAN is about connecting the viewer with both the sharks and their champions. The shows are not about pushing activist views on the audience either, they are about science and creating a real sense of what it is like to be working to help sharks.
The dynamic and intimate style of SHARK MAN will give the viewer a real connection with these next-generation environmental heroes.
