Ali Mau will host TV ONE's new 7pm show Seven Sharp alongside Greg Boyed and Jesse Mulligan.

Australian-born Mau (pronounced "More") has been a journalist for 20 years.

During her career she has reported for various organisations in Australia, the United Kingdom and New Zealand, including a stint as London correspondent for China's CTS Network, which broadcasts to over 50 million viewers.

Her first on-screen appearance for TVNZ was in 1994's Eyewitness programme. From there she went on to present TV2's Newsnight before joining the ONE News team.

After a year-long stint presenting Breakfast with Mike Hosking, she returned to a ONE News weekend presenting role after the birth of her second child, Joel.

In 2004 Ali moved from the ONE News slot to present Breakfast. She left TVNZ at the end of that year but then returned to the Breakfast team.

In May 2010 Mau joined New Zealand's favourite consumer affairs show Fair Go as co-presenter, where she stayed until moving to join the new Seven Sharp project.

Ali also appeared on our screens in the highly popular series Home Front with Dave Cull.
