What a challenge. You would be forgiven for thinking that Seven Sharp's already on air, given the rabid rants from some of the television critics. Speculation itself is being speculated on, and so on and so on.
Take a breath guys. Or pick up the phone. I've been working on Seven Sharp since day one, and I'm still to receive a single call from any of these so-called journalists.
For all you more sane level-headed types, don't fret. We've gathered together a strong, experienced team of journalists whose focus and passion is television news. That's our job. We are chasing some great stories.
We are determined to bring you a quality show. There will be hard stories, there will be soft stories, and yes there will be laughs. Kiwis tend not to take themselves too seriously. We want to celebrate our country.
The key focus of our show is discussion, and that's a point the critics have all missed. In a decade that will be dominated by social media, we're aiming at getting your views. If the last few weeks are anything to go by, that's already happening and our concept is working.
