Here at TVNZ SatOps we arrange live feeds and links connecting New Zealand and the Pacific Islands with the rest of the world. If you need to take in a feed from overseas to broadcast or edit or send your pictures overseas via satellite or fibre as part of your coverage of an event here in New Zealand then we are the people to call. Even though we're called Satellite Operations, these days most of our work involves connecting with networks across the world via high speed fibre. The work we do to ensure these links are available and carrying the right traffic have helped get major events like the Beijing Olympics and the 2010 FIFA World Cup to air and we play an integral role in coverage of major news events like the Samoan Tsunami. TVNZ Television Centre in the heart of Auckland is the ideal location for visiting broadcasters, reporters and camera crews to send their playouts back to their home broadcasters. Our MCR is manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and as New Zealand's national broadcaster you can have complete faith in the integrity of our engineering setup and infrastructure. We can also arrange live feeds and playouts from our facilities around the North and South Island including Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin as well as smaller centres - ideal if you're sending anyone over for 2011's Rugby World Cup. We offer a range of delivery options to cover the whole globe. From Auckland we can connect to Australia via satellite or fibre and can arrange onpasses to Europe and North America. We can uplink PAL or NTSC signals to satellite for delivery across the Pacific and South-East Asia including China, Japan, Singapore and even Antarctica.
