Team New Zealand skipper Dean Barker is in grave danger of missing out on the semi-finals of the Omega Auckland match-racing regatta this weekend.

Barker, who is using the regatta as a tune-up for next week's Louis Vuitton Trophy event in Auckland, is tied with three other sailors in third position - Adam Minoprio, Bertrand Pace, Torvar Mirsky - on eight wins after six flights.

British sailor Ben Ainslie continues to dominate winning 13 races in the regatta, well clear of second placed, Karol Jablonski, who is one win ahead of Barker on nine victories.

Light winds prevented the final three flights getting underway late on Friday afternoon but they will be completed on Saturday morning if necessary before the semi-finals get underway.

Barker's final three round robin sets are against Chris Dickson, Jablonski and Magnus Holmberg respectively.

Points Table (after RR1 & Flight 6 of RR2)

Ben Ainslie 13 wins
Karol Jablonski 9
Adam Minoprio 8
Bertrand Pace 8
Torvar Mirsky 8
Dean Barker 8
Magnus Holmberg 6
Francesco Bruni 6
Sebastien Col 5
Chris Dickson 4
