The party of all parties has come to an end in Wellington but who were the winners from the whole ordeal? tvnz.co.nz has at least some of the answers.
The Peter Jackson award for best execution in costume goes to...
In previous years your humble writer has decided this award, and as much as I like to think I have a good eye for these sort of things, I'm pleased to hand the job over to some judges who have some pedigree. Austin Powers, the international man of mystery, judged stage presence while Madison, who is a hair and make-up artist at WETA, judged execution in costume in the first ever Costume Catwalk. And after fighting off stiff competition in the final from the Strawberry Shortcake Girls, the Bumble Bee Transformer and the Bucket Girls to name a few, the Lego Crew, made up of seven 23-year-olds from Palmerston North, won the overall title and $10,00 to boot.
"It took a 150 hours to make and a lot of sweat and tears," Stephen Oliver said.
He joked he would try and double the cash at the pokies but Rebecca Gill quickly intervened.
"We are going to have the best night in Wellington," she said with a huge smile. And I'm sure they did.

Now we are not usually in the business of plugging brands but
the Skinny promo team, who are pushing a new cell phone company in

Tipped as one of the costumes that would take centre stage before
the the tournament, the
Moprh Suit were everywhere to
be seen and plus some. The only problem was though that most
of the males wearing these lycra suits couldn't help but walk
around half naked for two days straight, even when it was raining
and reasonably cold yesterday. Go figure.
2011's winner: Mexicans
2010's winner: Jailbird Gangs
The Kanye West we know we're the best award goes
to...
The 44 Condoms. These young Wellington men stood out like
nobody's business and had girls demanding photo after photo with
them. I guess it was sort of symbolic of the sexual tension in the
air.
2011's winner: The Baseball Girls
2010's winner: The 102 Dalmatians.
The West Side is the Best side award goes to...

The dominant New Zealand team, who without a shadow of a doubt,

The Australians again were booed, ridiculed and
abused as they flopped on day one. Got to love trans-Tasman
rivalry!

The All Blacks award for biggest chokers goes to...
Kenya. Only needing to beat Canada in their final Pool match
to top Pool D, they crumbled under pressure and were resigned to
the lower half of the draw.
2011's winner: Fiji
2010's winner: New Zealand
The LeBron James MVP award goes to...
Tomasi Cama, who pulled out his full bag of tricks to bring
New Zealand back from the dead against England in the semi-finals
and then was at it again as he set up two tries and scored one
himself in the final against his home nation Fiji. Should surely
now rate along with Eric Rush as New Zealand's greatest ever Sevens
player.
2011's winner: Declan O'Donnell (New Zealand)
2010's winner: William Ryder (Fiji)
