Flanker Adam Thomson will return for the Highlanders against the Force in Dunedin on Friday night.
Thomson had been named to play in last week's loss against the Lions but pulled out late due to a re-occurrence of the rib injury he sustained against the Chiefs a month ago.
It will be Thomson's 50th game for the Highlanders.
The only other change to the starting line up sees John Hardie replacing Alando Soakai at openside flanker.
All Blacks lock Tom Donnelly returns to the Highlanders' bench after recovering from a back injury.
It is the Highlanders final home game of the season and their last game at the iconic Carisbrook stadium. They will model their controversial 2012 strip for the match.
