Blues utility Rene Ranger has denied reports that he is heading to France at the end of the current Super Rugby season.
Sky's Reunion last night suggested Ranger had signed with Top 14 side Montepellier and would leave New Zealand rugby following the Blues' campaign.
However Ranger denied the rumours at training today, saying he was still contracted to the Blues and Northland for the ITM Cup.
The 26-year-old played three Tests for the All Blacks in 2010 and said he still had goals to get back there. He may well get his chance if he sticks around with Richard Kahui heading to Japan and Conrad Smith expected to take a sabbatical at the end of the year.
Ranger will come face-to-face with another All Blacks midfield hopeful Robbie Fruean when he wears the 13 jersey for the Blues against the Crusaders at Eden Park on Friday night.
Blues coach Sir John Kirwan has kept the same 22 man squad that defeated the Hurricanes in the season opener in Wellington.
