Otago rugby coach Steve Martin will not be seeking another term.

Martin, who has coached the team since 2006, confirmed after Otago's final Air NZ Cup match on Saturday, a 22-19 win over Counties-Manukau , that he would not be seeking reappointment.

Otago Rugby Football Union chief executive Richard Reid said the position would be advertised later this week, with an appointment due next month, the Otago Daily Times said on Monday.

Former Otago hooker David Latta, currently coach of Otago Country and a selector for the Otago team, is among those considering contesting the position.

Latta played a record 161 games for Otago between 1986 and 1996.
