The Hurricanes have signed Junior All Blacks and New Zealand Maori players Jacob Ellison and Karl Lowe and New Zealand under 20s representative Jeff Allen for next season.
Both Ellison and Lowe have recommitted to the franchise after making their debuts in 2008 and 2009 respectively.
Hurricanes Head Coach Mark Hammett commented, "We are thrilled Jacob and Karl have committed to the Hurricanes for the next season. Both are talented players and their re-signing is great news for the team."
Jacob Ellison had an out-clause in his contract, but has instead turned down that option and chosen to stay with the Hurricanes. "I'm really happy to be staying in the Hurricanes region. With the way things have turned out I have been presented a good opportunity to show what I have to offer and really work on my game."
Karl Lowe noted, "It's an honour to be part of the Hurricanes environment for two more seasons. I had offers overseas, but missing this season through injury I really miss putting on the Hurricanes jersey, so I am grateful for the chance to be part of the team in the future."
Hammett was thrilled to secure the service of young Wellington forward Allen, and explained, "Jeff is an exciting young prop who is highly rated by New Zealand scrum coach Mike Cron. He is a fit, dynamic, strong prop and we look forward to progressing him as a player within our franchise."
