Published: 3:29PM Sunday April 28, 2013 Source: ONE Sport

The Crusaders were too strong for the Rebels in their Super Rugby clash in Christchurch today.

FULLTIME: Crusaders 30-26 Rebels

The Crusaders utilised all their experience to get home over a brave Rebels outfit who threatened right until the final whistle.

After starting the second half the stronger side the Rebels fell off the pace in the last quarter with some questionable replacements made to their side.

Ill-discipline also played a part with several crucial penalties going against the visiotrs in the last 20 minutes.

The likes of Dan Carter and Andy Ellis helped the Crusaders' cause but Tom Taylor's boot proved the difference overall.

Tune in again to onenews.co.nz for more Super Rugby live updates next Friday when the Blues host the Stormers at North Harbour Stadium from 7.30pm.

HALFTIME: Crusaders 18-11 Rebels

The Rebels have enjoyed a strong first half to surprise the Crusaders yet the hosts have done enough to keep their lead.

Coach Todd Blackadder will want his side to retain possession and build phases in the second half after playing erratically throughout the first term.

The Rebels will be buoyed by their early efforts and will continue to grow in confidence the longer they are allowed to threaten the Crusaders lead.

Look for an improved forward effort from the Crusaders and the injection of Dan Carter off the bench.

Stand by for a thrilling second half.

23mins Crusaders 12-8 Rebels

The Rebels get a try to Scott Higginbotham from a stunning 80-metre counter-attack after the Crusaders turned the ball over.

O'Connor's conversion is waved away.

That's Guildford's first five-pointer for the year after his well-publicised break from the game.
