England were far too good for an understrength Crusaders side, on fire from the opening whistle they never let up.

Credit to the Crusaders they continued to battle away but just weren't able polish off their opportunities.

The Christchurch public have packed out the stadium for their one off match against

Prop Joe Moody has been named in the reserves for his first game since he broke his leg in last year's ITM Cup final

Matt Todd has been released by the All Blacks to join the team and will take a place in the reserves to provide cover for Whitelock brothers George and Luke and Jordan Taufua in the loose forwards.

Coach Todd Blackadder said there is a real feeling of excitement amongst the team about facing the England team at home. "This is such a special occasion for so many reasons and the team has been absolutely buzzing in the lead up to this game.

"For our players this is a great chance to pit themselves against one of the world's best international sides."

It's also a special occasion for England's Michael Paterson who is set to come off the bench to make his debut, the 29-year local played 22 games for the Crusaders between 2007 - 2009 before spending a year with the Hurricanes in 2010.

Paterson was home in New Zealand visiting family when he got called into the squad by coach Stuart Lancaster.

England have ensured their players form from tonight's game will be taken seriously and they can use this opportunity to push for selection for Saturday night's third and final Test against the All Blacks in Hamilton.
