  • Crusaders provide only bright spot

The shot put could turn out to be the big event at Thursday night's international track and field meet in Christchurch.

Crusaders Thomas Waldrom and Brad Thorn have been included in the shot put invitation field.

While Waldrom is currently in a Crusaders jersey, he has been linked to a shift to Leicester in the UK, but he says he may end up in a three-way fight for his services.

He jokes if he has a blinder on Thursday night, he might get offered some SPARC funding.
