If rugby is the game played in Heaven the almighty must have big plans in store for one of his most devoted servants.

80 year old Brother Dunstan has coached Sacred Heart College's 7A side since 1985 and has an enviable record with 17 titles in 25 years - his most recent two weeks ago

Despite having the man upstairs on his side, he tries not to mix God and rugby.

"I never have and I never will pray that I'll win a game of football. I do pray at the beginning that neither team will suffer any serious injuries and that's as far as prayer and rugby mix with me," He said.

He says his high winning record comes from caring for the players.

"I have a great affection for them all. Our founder said if you want to teach a kid you've got to love him first."

Dunstan says he has no plans to retire anytime soon.

"People ask me when am I going to retire and the answer is when the kids are suffering or at a loss or at a disadvantage because I'm teaching."
